What is the focus for Leadership North Texas?

Leadership North Texas (LNT) focuses on recruiting, educating, and developing regional leaders in order to ensure the North Texas area continues to prosper as a sustainable region in a global market place.

How does LNT differ from local leadership programs?

LNT is a graduate-level program aimed at individuals who have completed a city or community based leadership programs. Those individuals who have the basics of leadership and have a desire to take their knowledge to a regional level are encouraged to apply for LNT.

Why should I sign up for LNT?

LNT provides individuals with an interest in regional leadership an opportunity to explore the growth and dynamics of North Texas and provides them an opportunity for civic engagement.

Who participates in LNT?

LNT is open for anyone who has completed a local or community based leadership program and has an interest in regional issues and leadership. Each class will be comprised of participants from all parts of North Texas with diverse backgrounds.

What will the participants learn?

Participants will have an opportunity to learn a wide variety of information about North Texas. The program will start with a two-day retreat to provide demographic and historical information about the region as well as an opportunity for the class to build camaraderie. From there, each program day will focus on a different topic ranging from education and workforce development to building a sustainable environment and a healthy region.

What is the tuition cost for LNT?

Tuition is $3,000.

What if I need tuition assistance?

Tuition assistance will be available for those who qualify. To learn more, please contact Leadership North Texas directly.

Who are some of the presenters for LNT sessions?

LNT will have a variety of local experts and leaders presenting the individual sessions. Possible presenters include NCTCOG Executive Director Mike Eastland, Candy Slocum of InterLink, and transportation experts Michael Morris and Vic Suhm.

Who are the sponsors for LNT?

Chesapeake Energy has generously donated money to help launch the program.

If my company sponsors the program, does that mean that I can attend?

Not necessarily. If you meet all the criteria for participation, then you will have a good chance of being selected.

What can I do to continue my experience after I’ve completed LNT?

After completing LNT, alumni are encouraged to become involved with the region in an area that best suits his or her interest. In addition, LNT will have an active alumni group to provide alums with opportunities to continue their involvement.
